My name is Lori Haines, and I have represented the Athens School District since 2011, currently serving as the Marathon County Children with Disabilities Education Board secretary. My occupation is Vice President of our family-owned truck transportation business. I graduated from Athens High School in 1979. In the Athens community, I have served as a Girl Scout Leader, a church organist, a member of local snowmobile clubs, and a volunteer at my church, St. Anthony. I served as a member of the School District of Athens Board for 15 years, including a term as board president for nine years. Areas of special education that I am most interested in are children being presented with fun learning activities, ever-changing technologies, and a safe, inclusive environment. The primary priority I have for the Marathon County Children with Disabilities Education Board is to provide a valuable service to the districts in our consortium and maintain our great atmosphere as a Board.
