Goal

• Ensure all eligible children and youth receive appropriate educational opportunities within state and federal laws. 

Objectives

• Maintain Board membership knowledge of needs, activities, and options for policy decision-making.
• Secure and maintain professional staff with appropriate state licensure and expertise to implement Board policies.
• Secure and maintain appropriate instructional materials and equipment for student benefit with staff direction.
• Provide state approved management, fiscal data, and word processing expertise for reporting and communications.
• Assure adequate facilities for all instructional and management expertise for operational efficiency.
• Assess needs and plan appropriate programs for all eligible students.
• Maintain a fiscally sound management system.

Impact

• Provide educational and assessment services to approximately 500 students with special needs.
• Provide management and leadership to over 140 staff, including school psychologists, school social workers, program support specialists, occupational and physical therapists, instruction staff, and aides.
• Maintain increased school attendance and student achievement through graduation; increase student achievements.
• Provide alternatives for institutional care costs.
• Increases employability probabilities.
• Provide efficiency and effectiveness in a County multi-district function to secure special grants and the research and development of alternatives.
